2nd Annual Smokin' & Stokin' BBQ Cook-Off Event

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Looking for something fun to do on Saturday, October 12th The Trussville Rotary Daybreak. Club will present the 2nd Annual Smokin' & Stokin' BBQ Cook Off from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Trussville Civic Center. This event is a Kansas City Barbecue Society and an Alabama Barbecue Association Event. There will be approximately forty teams competing in a cook off to see who has the best ribs, pork and chicken to move one step closer to the top of those associations' leader boards! Festival-goers can expect to find kids' activities, local entertainment including OutShine (Birmingham's #1 Party Band), BBQ sampling, a com hole tournament (additional charge to enter the Comhole tournament), and a big screen TV for watching college football games. You can also vote for your favorite Boston butt! We will also have Boston Butts available for purchase of which the proceeds will go to support the various Rotary projects throughout the year.


Entry into the 2nd Annual Smokin' & Stokin' Festival is $5.00 and includes all kids' activities, BBQ Sampling and entertainment. . There will be Food Trucks with a multitude of treats along with Beer, Wine and Soft Drinks that will be available for you to purchase.


We are excited to announce that this year, with the help of Gunfighters (Law Enforcement) MC Birmingham Chapter, the Smokin & Stokin BBQ Cook Off will also feature the Smokin' and Stokin' Poker Run, a motorcycle poker run unlike any other to benefit injured Trussville resident and Tarrant Firefighter Lt. Jerry Presley who was injured in the line of duty on Sunday, January 27, 2019. The cost to enter the Poker Run is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. Registration will begin at Riders Harley Davidson in Trussville at 8:00 and Kick Stands up 9:30. After a group ride past the Tarrant Fire Department, stops will include The Trussville Cigar Company, Van's Bar, Sheepdog Firearms, along with others and concludes at the BBQ Cook Off which is included in the price of the poker run.

The Rotary International motto is 'Service above Self,' and this club lives out this motto by serving the community in many ways. Proceeds from the event will fund the club's many projects, such as scholarships, leadership opportunities for local high school students, Rotary projects, Dr. Seuss books for local elementary students, ribbons at City Hall in recognition of Veterans' Day, lunch for campers and staff at Smile-a-Mile, trees planted at Civitan Park, and more.

The Club meets at Trussville First Baptist Church at 7 am. on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday mornings
